Day 28 - Sunday, July 19 - Sioux Falls, SD - REST DAY

Fortunately, rest day falls on Sunday this time. This gave us time to attend mass in a more relaxed manner and having Ken, Judy, and Betty here to ride with and made it all the better. The service was very uplifting and the music was excellent.
After mass we visited the falls that must be responsible for the name Sioux Falls. It's a beautiful rocky area that was ground down by a huge glacier. Although much of the water flow has been diverted elsewhere, the falls have a powerful sound an a penetrating spray. We had lunch in the old hydroelectric plant that has been converted to a restaurant.
The sculpture is representative of many western cities. They take great pride in putting their unique heritage into sculptures and these add greatly to the character of their towns.
Today is bike maintenance day and recovery day. What a bonus to have visitors from home and another Peoria rider on board.
