One puzzling observation was the large number of new homes, apparently being built by folks who work in the city and live in the country. The "vacation flowers" (actually chicory) lined the road and seems very vibrant this year. We call these vacation flowers because they seem so prominent during our many years of July vacations.Arriving in Port Huron, I did some exploring and found this nice park on Lake Huron. There were lots of sail and power boats on the lake. One beach paralleled a nice city street.

This plaque and the anchor memorialize the site of some ship sinkings and loss of life. We will be on that bridge first thing in the morning crossing the Saint Clair river into Canada! It is quite high and the climb up to it will be significant.

The statue is a tribute to Thomas Edison. He caught a train at a nearby station daily to earn money selling papers to passengers, his first big success.
Tom pretty well sumed it up, the farms today were much poorer thn those we have seen the last few days, the roads are still rough and quite often have no shoulder but still lots of traffic. No whine, just fact. Tomorrow Canada, another new adventure.
